Fees

Since I am not currently registered with a statutory health insurance provider, I am unfortunately unable to bill statutory health insurance providers (“gesetzliche Krankenkassen”), but only private health insurance providers and with subsidies. Please check with your insurance provider in advance to find out whether the costs of your psychotherapy treatment in a private practice will be covered by your insurance provider and what documents/applications are required. Please bring the required documents/applications from your insurance provider with you, ideally to your initial consultation. In addition to my license to practice, my membership in the Chamber of Psychotherapists in Lower Saxony, and my entry in the medical register, I also hold a license to practice as a health practitioner (“Heilpraktiker-Lizenz”), if this is relevant to your insurance company, in order to reimburse you for the costs of your treatment.

The costs of treatment in my practice are based on the billing recommendations for private practices (link). Depending on the complexity of the treatment, fees are calculated with a factor of 2.3 - 3.5. The 2.3-fold rate is €134.06 for a 50-minute session. In my practice, I charge a uniform 2.3-fold rate for all treatments.

PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES AND BENEFITS
Private health insurance companies and benefit providers usually cover 100% of the costs of therapy. The costs in my practice are based on the billing recommendation for private practices, currently €134.06 (factor: 2.3). The number of hours approved and the conditions for approval vary between different health insurance companies. Please check with your health insurance company in advance about the conditions regarding reimbursement for psychotherapy. Ideally, please bring the application documents with you to the initial consultation.

FEDERAL POLICE
If appropriately indicated, the Federal Police's medical care program also covers the costs of psychotherapy in a private practice with a licensed psychotherapist.

GERMAN ARMED FORCES

If appropriately indicated, the German Armed Forces can cover the costs of behavioral therapy in a private practice. Please contact the responsible military physician, who can issue the medical form for reimbursement. You can then apply for reimbursement of further sessions.

SELF-PAYMENT

You are welcome to use a self-pay option without any bureaucratic hassle. To avoid excessive financial burdens, it is also possible to attend therapy sessions at extended intervals (e.g., only every 2-3 weeks, depending on your needs/treatment concerns). You can deduct the costs of self-funded therapy or co-payments for psychotherapy as a tax deduction.

COSTS OF PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC COUNSELING AND COUPLE THERAPY

Please note that the costs of psychotherapeutic counseling and couples therapy are not covered by health insurance, as these are not medical treatments. A couple therapy session lasts 75 minutes and costs €190 per session. The frequency of sessions can be arranged flexibly, including once a month or every 2-3 weeks, if desired. The cost for a 50-minute psychotherapeutic consultation is €134.06.
